Detailing Bobby's VL Commodore

While my M5 is in getting a respray, my Boss, Bobby, was kind enough to lend me his old VL Commodore. It's in pretty good nick, but it's getting old. Bobby has bought a brand new VE Calais V8, and so wants to sell the VL. I thought that the least I can do to repay him for letting me borrow his car is to detail it to try and increase its value.

My wife and I spent 6 solid hours cleaning and detailing, the procedure that we used was :

• Clean the interior using Final Inspection GPC (General Purpose Cleaner, great stuff!)

• Clean the wheels with Meguiar's Wheel Cleaner, and a wheel brush

• Wash the car using QEW and 8 litres of clean collected water

• Polish the glass using Zaino Glass Polish on a Yellow Edge pad on the Random Orbital

• Clay the paint and trim with a claymagic blue clay bar, using ONR as a clay lube

• Swirl removal using Menzerna Intensive Polish on a Yellow Edge pad on the Random Orbital

• Quick Polish using Menzerna Final Finish on a Blue Edge pad on the Random Orbital

• Meguiar's Endurance Tyre Gel on all of the black plastic and rubber trim

• Coat the tyres with Meguiar's Insane Tyre Shine

• 2 coats of Zaino Z5 Pro, using the Zaino ZFX Hardener

During the week, I will wash the car again, and then put a coat of Zaino Z-CS over the top for added protection. The results so far are in the pictures below
