Our New House - Page 15

26th February 2001

"Practical Completion" and the "Final Inspection" happened today. What that means is that this is when the builder considers the house to be ready, and the final inspection is when we get to meet the builder onsite, and point out all of the little problems that we find. The builder will get all of the identified items fixed ASAP, and then get a certificate of occupancy, and it's at this point that that house is considered finished.

We are expecting to settle on the 6th of March, and move in on the 9th of March

The outide of the house, with the tiler just finishing off the grout on the tiles on the front porch. The toilet and the power pole out the front still have to be removed. The rails for the balcony still need to be fitted

The retreat in the master bedroom, just getting the morning sun. Carpets have all been fitted.

The view from the retreat

A washed-out photo of the kitchen. The floors are a really deep red color. The cooktop fitted is the wrong model, and will be replaced inthe next few days.

A picture of the lounge room, which will become our home-theatre room. The screen will be mounted in between the lights on the wall.

A view of the staircase from the entry. Again, this is a bit washed out, the floors are a nice red color.

A view across the stairwell to the TV area

The view down the stairs to see the entry. This is a better picture of the floors throughout the ground floor.

The spa in the ensuite

The shower screen doors still need to be fitted.
